Situated at the foot of Chapmans Peak the Noordhoek valley remains one of Cape Town’s most treasured destinations. Although rural in location and atmosphere, it's nevertheless only a 40 minutes drive from Cape Town international Airport. It is close to Cape Point, Kalk Bay, Simons Town , Fish Hoek and all the tourist attractions. With its delightful village atmosphere, offering rural and rustic surroundings, along with views of the vast wetlands, beautiful mountains; and the ocean, it’s the place to live.
It is common to find horses, pigs, hens, ducks, geese and rabbits roaming around the gardens, leafy lanes and public spaces of Noordhoek. This is a place where horses are almost more important than cars and the lifestyle of the residents is tranquil, relaxed and unhurried.
The Noordhoek Farm village is the heart beat of Noordhoek, where you will find a variety of restaurants , hotel, shops and its own Village roastery. Noordhoek is also home to the award winning Cape Point Vineyard wine estate.
Shopping in Noordhoek is fabulous for unique arts and crafts, particularly at Noordhoek Farm Village, but every modern convenience can be found at the large shopping mall. Where you can do your banking, shopping or go to gym.
The name “Noordhoek” means north corner in Dutch and is best known for its picturesque shoreline which stretches from the southern foot of Chapman’s Peak to Kommetjie. From here one can watch the surfers riding the waves or take a long sunset horseback ride along the beach
Noordhoek can be accessed either from Chapmans Peak Drive which leads out of Hout Bay or via Ou Kaapse Weg which cuts through the Silvermine Nature reserve – now part of the Table Mountain National Park. The Noordhoek way of life is to be passionate about nature conservation and stringently opposes over-development, which is why Noordhoek is so popular – as it is “Close to nature, but close to Town”.
Noordhoek has become very popular with people looking to slow down and looking for a more rural existence. It offers lovely homes on large plots making the area popular for horse lovers. It offers incredible sea views form the elevated mountain suburbs. A sleepy hollow in a world of its own, only a short drive away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
